A global sporting apparel and footwear organisation, generating more than US$46bn in annual revenue, operating across 190+ markets with 75,000+ employees, required interim marketing communications support during a demanding period spanning a global event, campaigns, product priorities and stakeholder coordination. In a brand environment where speed, precision and execution matter, any gap in capability risked slowing delivery and placing pressure on an already lean local team.
Hope & Glory was engaged to identify an interim Manager, Communications on a temporary basis. The brief required a capable operator with strong delivery skills, sound judgement and the flexibility to support a broad mix of activity in a commercially focused environment. Just as importantly, we were engaged to employ the individual on Hope & Glory’s payroll, taking responsibility for pay, superannuation, insurance and related employment overheads throughout the assignment.
We moved quickly to qualify the brief, define the required capability and identify talent able to perform in a pacey, brand-led setting. We managed the end-to-end process, secured the successful interim candidate and employed them via Hope & Glory, covering payroll, super, insurances and ongoing contractor management. What began as an initial six-month assignment proved highly successful and ultimately extended to two years.
The appointment gave the local business immediate, reliable support across a wide range of marketing communications activity, helping maintain momentum during a critical period. By combining recruitment, employment and contractor care, Hope & Glory reduced administrative burden for the client while ensuring continuity and performance. The result was a successful interim solution that delivered value well beyond the original brief.
“High-performing consumer brands cannot afford gaps in execution. This assignment showed the value of moving quickly, understanding the commercial realities of the brief and providing not just talent, but a fully supported temporary staffing solution.”
